Waiting for J/70 World Championship 2017… When looking at which venues made the most sense and would provide the best atmosphere for the next season of the Italian national open Championship (so far highly supported by the foreign fleets from Sweden and Monaco), the Italian J/70s found themselves drawn to several sites that have already proven to be perfect fits:
The fourth event of the J/70 Alcatel Onetouch Italian Trophy ended with 9 races in three days, tank to the good and windy conditions. Elegain of Franco Solerio wins with 10 points on the runner up, Calvi Network of Carlo Alberini who is neck and neck with Spin One of Pietro Saccomani.
The second step of the J/70 Alcatel Onetouch Italian Trophy starts where it ended in April: at the Yacht Club Sanremo. Notaro Team of Luca Domenici won the event, second place for Uji Uji of Alessio Marinelli (Club Vela Portocivitanova) and third Calvi Network of Carlo Alberini (Compagnia della Vela Pesaro).
It was Alessio Marinelli on Uji Uji along with tactician Sandro Iseri who won the second staging act of the Italian circuit; tied with equal points in second place is local Franco Solerio’s L’elagain with Daniele Cassinari calling tactics. Monaco’s duo of Guido Miani and Massimo Benussi on Ange Tranparent finishes out the podium in third.
