Rimini – Identical boats, no corrected times, no chance of modifications. In one-design classes, the best wins. This is why the J/70 Clinic is the ideal opportunity to improve before the start of the new season. Theory, regatta strategies, regulations but above all a lot of practice at sea, with an exceptional coach: Francesco “Checco” Ivaldi, former Olympian in Sydney 2000.
This is the recipe for the first clinic of the season organized by Mar-in with the support of Yacht Club Rimini, Legavela Servizi and the Italian Class J/70. The boats are those of the Italian Club Championship.
The program includes two days of training (March 11 and 12). It starts on Saturday morning at 9 with theory, racing strategy, tactics and rules, and then takes to the water and sails to bring the boat to 100%.
There will be opportunities to do training regattas and in the evening debriefing on land, guests of the Yacht Club Rimini. Registration is already open, to participate just send an email to clinic@mar-in.it.
The J/70: easy, fun and safe
Launched in 2013, yet another winning project by Alan Johnstone, the J/70 (6.93 x 2.25 m, 795 kg of displacement for 21 square meters of sail area upwind) has experienced a very rapid diffusion with more than 1,500 boats sailing in more than 25 countries. It is not a “derivone”, but a small cabinet, with a national and international community to deal with and have fun with.
